Why it matters

Good English does not guarantee a clear message

Most advice on communicating in English comes from North American and British coaches. It assumes every audience listens, trusts and decides the way theirs does. Many audiences do not.

A Japanese committee, a Brazilian client team and a German works council can each expect a different order of information, a different pace and a different relationship. That applies to a keynote, a meeting, a job interview or a Teams call. Fluent English does not give you that knowledge.

Non-native speakers also feel out of step with advice that ignores their own management culture, use of time, reporting habits and teamwork values. Your origin speaks before you do, and clichés can blur how your message is received.

  • Silent or sceptical rooms
  • Unproductive international meetings
  • Interviews and calls that go cold
  • Remote relations on Teams or Zoom
  • Cultural stereotypes

Our approach

Synchronise international communication with each cultural system

We decouple your method from the default Anglo-Saxon model and rebuild it around the decision logic of your actual audience: Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa, Asia, Latin America and beyond. It applies to the way you speak, meet, interview and work remotely.

Our work draws on recognised intercultural frameworks, including Hofstede, Trompenaars and Lewis. We translate them into concrete practices: listen before arguing, structure explicitly, humanise the exchange. Sciences such as social psychology and cognitive mechanisms are used only where they improve a real practice.

Every programme starts from your real material: emails, meetings, calls, presentations and contracts.

What you gain

Five benefits for your international communication

  1. A message built for how your audience decides

We start from the listener’s logic, not from a template.

  2. A clear structure in plain professional English

Explicit signposting works in a speech, a meeting and a call.

  3. Control over the clichés your origin triggers

You anticipate stereotypes, neutralise them or use them with intent.

  4. Confidence in live and remote exchanges

You rehearse the pushback, the silences and the tough questions, in a room or on Teams and Zoom.

  5. Tools you keep and reuse

Expression banks, checklists, scripts and negotiation frames.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who is PatrickJAYCommunications for?

For sales, production and business-development leaders, and for HR and training managers, whose teams present, meet, sell or negotiate in English with other cultures. Clients come from every sector and size, including public bodies.

How is this different from an American or British coach?

We do not assume that every audience listens, trusts and decides like a North American or British one. We start from the decision logic of your real audience and adapt structure, pace and relationship to it, whether you speak, meet or work on video.

Do you only work on public speaking?

Public speaking and presentations are our focus, through our Facing the Audience department. We also work on international meetings, interviews and calls, and remote relations on Teams or Zoom.

Which formats do you offer?

Consulting, audits, training, coaching, workshops, keynotes and master classes, for individuals or groups, on site or remote. Common formats are a 3.5-hour half-day, a 7-hour day or a progressive programme.

What is the difference between training and coaching?

Training transmits and drills knowledge, know-how and attitudes. Coaching supports a person or team toward a precise goal, working on obstacles, choices and practices.

Can you work remotely?

Yes, on Teams or Zoom, notably for scoping, preparation and coaching. On site can be preferable for strong tensions or groups that are not yet cohesive.

How fast do I get an answer?

You receive a feasibility answer the same day and a written proposal within 24 hours, from the expert who will deliver.

How is the budget built?

It depends on the level of intervention, format, duration, audience, travel and deliverables. We look for the best balance between impact, time invested and cost.

In which languages do you work?

In English and in French, from Paris and anywhere in the world.

Tell us about your next international presentation, meeting or call.

Describe your audience, your date and your stake. You hear back the same day.
